Gender and Women's Studies Program

Gender and Women's Studies is an interdisciplinary academic field with roots in the student, civil rights, and women's movements of the 1960s and 1970s. The program at KSU offers students the chance to explore the construction of gender in relation to race, class, sexuality, nation, and other social differences in a global context and to engage their communities through social justice projects.

GWST students are well prepared for today's diverse workforce and enter professional careers in business, education, healthcare, government, public policy, journalism, non-profits, social justice organizations, a range of human services positions in the public and private sectors, and more!

GWST Programs Offered

Gender and Women's Studies currently offers two programs. The Minor in Gender and Women's Studies and a Certificate in Gender and the Workplace.
